Universiteit Hasselt (UHasselt), a Flemish university in Belgium, MSU-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT), and the Visayas State University (VSU), collaborated to organize a series of workshops focused on Co-CiPhil: Co-creating environmental citizen science capacity in the Philippines.ย
Additionally, the ITP projects systematically integrated global perspectives to create a supportive, inclusive, and networked learning environment in which professionals acquired transversal skills and state-of-the-art knowledge on sustainable development. The ITP project also enabled professionals to become global citizens as experts discerning and motivated to act as change agents in their network.
The first week of the workshop focused on Science communication in the context of statistics by Prof. dr. Thomas Neyes, while the second week will focus on the Generalized Linear Models, which deals with non-continuous outcomes, such as counts (e.g., species richness) or proportions (e.g. disease prevalence or incidence) by Prof. dr. Ziv Shkedy.
Finally, the workshop will run through from February 26 to March 8, 2024.
