Seminar on eDNA Metabarcoding as Biomonitoring Tool and Field Training on eDNA Water Sampling  

  April 25, 2023, MSU Naawan Audio-Visual Room --- Environmental DNA (eDNA) metabarcoding project welcomes Professor Tadashi Kajita as their resource speaker for the seminar on eDNA metabarcoding as biomonitoring tool and field training on eDNA water sampling. The half-day seminar was attended by the faculty researchers Dr. Venus E. Leopardas, Dr. Allyn Duvin S. Pantallano, Dr. Nonillon Aspe, project staffs, university research assistant, LGU staffs, and students.

     Professor Kajita is a visiting professor in Universiti Malaysia and Professor in the United Graduate School of Agricultural Sciences, Kagoshima University, Japan. He is also the Program Leader of JSPS Core-to-Core and e-ASIA JRP eDNA Research which aims to gear up young career professionals in the field of eDNA research and streamlining the eDNA biomonitoring tool to the local environmental offices.

     The team is expected to arrive in Tubajon mangrove ecopark in Laguindingan Misamis Oriental for the hands-on with eDNA water sampling.
