MSU Naawan collaborates with UMT Malaysia and IPB University Indonesia

Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu Malaysia— the Chancellor Dr. Elnor C. Roa; Dr. Ruby C. Gonzales, Director for Research; Dr. Rey Y. Capangpangan, Director for International Affairs and Linkages; Dr. Jesrael B. Palco, Dean of the College of Marine and Allied Sciences for a visit at the Universiti Malaysia Terengganu for possible partnership. The visit entailed the dialogue for the potential in co-hosting symposia, student mobility, faculty exchange, joint research collaborations, international events and research grant matching.  

They also toured the Institute of Oceanography and Environment (INOS)facility where Dr. Izwandy Bin Idris, the Institution Head featured their research on oceanography and the possibility of sending faculty members of MSUN for oceanography courses. They went to the  Institute of Tropical Aquaculture and  Fisheries (AKUATROP) and met with Assoc.Prof. Dr. Nor Azman Bin Kasan and were also accommodated by the faculty members of Fisheries and Food Science led by Prof. Madya Dr. Faridah Mohad and Dr. Nor Fazliyana Mohtar, of whom they conversed co-advising, collaboration, program complementation and research collaboration where they also hopped into the official research vessel of the Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, the Discovery Vessel.

IPB University, Indonesia- the signing of the MOA on collaboration for the summer course led by IPB University while the  MOU is for the partnership to cultivate student, academic and research staff exchange, joint research and innovation activities, capability building, joint degree programs, and the Agreement for Academic Exchange was done on the 25th of August, 2022. The Agreement on Academic Exchange is to produce a skilled workforce and facilitate the exchange of faculty  members and to further encourage international educational cooperation and exchange between institutions.
