MSU Naawan Officials Tour Pennsylvania State Materials Research Institute
Pennsylvania State University, located in the Millennium Science Complex, Pollock Road, University Park, PA, is the largest among the Penn State System and home to 46,000 undergraduate students, it offers in 275 baccalaureate degree programs, ranked top 25 in US Research University and has an annual research expenditure of $1.034 billion. Their interdisciplinary research with the Materials Research Institute (MRI), is the catalyst for multidisciplinary education and innovations in materials. MRI houses one of the Core Facility, the Materials Characterization Laboratory (MCL).
Material Characterization is an important process in which a material's chemical, microstructure and physical properties are probed, measured and determined using a variety of analytical methods, techniques and tools. MSU-Naawan's recent interests in nanomaterial studies leads to their visit in the facility wherein the university showcased some of its recent studies and innovations. During the process, they discussed possible potential fields for research regarding nanotechnology and other sciences where they could collaborate and somehow extend the linkages of both universities.
